Project Summary

Bringing agriculture-related innovations to the market (quantitatively dominated by SMEs) is challenging. The parties lack business development skills and consciousness of applying the newest technologies. Our consortium’s main assumption is that once we are able to identify a group of SMEs opened to one type of innovation, this group will act as a catalyst of its environment. Building upon this hypothesis, we have identified two main pillars that we aim to implement during the project.

The first pillar is a pilot technology and knowledge transfer to enhance innovation-driven and sustainable production of agri SMEs in the Hungary-Serbia cross-border region. This goal is reached through the establishment of a cross-border mobile spectral laboratory for soil analysis and a framework of the cross-border pilot agricultural extension service; capacity building.

The second pillar is developing a methodology to establish a knowledge and innovation platform in the Hungary-Serbia cross-border area. The main activities is to identify new challenges and needs of agri SMEs and find potential partners with innovative ideas and potential solutions; organize cross-border innovation workshops and networking events for agri SMEs; create a methodology and a toolkit for boosting innovation and supporting young entrepreneurship.
