Workshop on identifying agricultural innovation needs in Hungary

Capacity building in agricultural innovation services in CEE countries (CATAlySt) project aims to support agricultural innovation within the CEE region by identifying the necessary skillset and knowledge for practicing agricultural innovation professionals and providing them with a well elaborated training program based on Dutch and British examples.

Discovery R&D Center organised a multiplier event on identifying agricultural innovation needs in Hungary. 20 participants including farmers, researchers, advisory consultants and the representatives of the most relevant Hungarian authorities attended this event on 25th May at Discovery R&D Center. Pál Goda, PhD opened the workshop, presented CATAlySt and moderated the event.

Csaba Gyurica, PhD, director of National Agricultural Research and Innovation Center and Erika Székely from the Hungarian Chamber of Agriculture delivered presentations on the role of these two institutions and their contribution to the agricultural innovation in Hungary.

After the presentations, participants discussed the role of innovation brokers in agriculture, their importance and possible approaches and tools for innovation broker education. The discussion showed the Hungarian perspective and contributed to the networking among participants that will serve as a basis of future steps of the CATAlySt project.
